Why is my device showing an incorrect location indoors?

Indoor locations can be inaccurate because GPS signals are designed for outdoor use. When you are indoors, signals can be weakened or reflected by roofs, walls, windows, mirrors, and walls. This can cause the position to drift and sometimes appear in a nearby apartment or a neighbor’s house.

MiniFinder reduces this as much as possible in the MiniFinder Live app. The app uses signal filters and combines GPS with WiFi and Bluetooth data to improve precision. It also calibrates the device over time and can use other location sources when GPS quality is low indoors. Even with these improvements, small location errors can still occur inside buildings due to physical signal limitations.

To get the best indoor accuracy, verify that Bluetooth is enabled. Keep the device nearby and open the MiniFinder Live app. Tap App Settings, then Bluetooth. Make sure your device appears in the list and that its Bluetooth toggle is enabled. If needed, turn Bluetooth off and then on again.

If you are using the older MiniFinder Go app, contact support to switch to the MiniFinder Live app at no cost.
