I'm trying to share my MiniFinder device with someone else. Why can't they register it?

To share a device, with someone else, you need to be contacts in the app, so start by adding them as a contact in the side menu and then Contacts.

Then, once you are contacts, activate “Share my device’s location info” on their profile card. You can also grant them full access, which lets them change settings on the device.
