Why does my Rex battery discharge quickly?

For long battery life of about 100 hours on the MiniFinder Rex, Smart Tracking must be enabled. This setting is designed to reduce power use while still providing useful tracking during a hunt.

To enable Smart Tracking, make sure the device is turned on and nearby. Open the MiniFinder Hunter app, tap your dog on the map, then tap Device Settings and enable Smart Tracking.

When Smart Tracking is active, the device updates its position based on motion. If the dog moves slowly or is standing still, updates are sent less often. If the dog moves faster, updates are sent more frequently. Because of this, the update interval may appear inconsistent, which is expected behavior and helps extend battery life.
